Peak Foliage in Waterbury, VT is NOW

What’s the date for peak foliage? Well, the answer to this common  question depends on what part of Vermont you are visiting. Peak  foliage is a bit subjective too depending on what mixes of red, yellow,  orange and green appeal to the viewer’s eye. In Waterbury, VT peak  foliage is happening NOW, the first week of October. For the southern  part of the state it will happen a bit later and in the northern sections  peak foliage has almost passed. Veteran foresters report an exceptional “hyper-vibrancy,” calling  the colors “practically neon,” and note excellent viewing throughout  much of the state at this time.
