In this engaging and supportive workshop, you’ll be gently guided through a simple yet powerful technique that involves tapping on specific acupressure points on the body while focusing on thoughts or emotions, helping to calm the nervous system and release stress. May 19th Sara Headley, the Founder and Family Nurse of Mint Health will teach us how exercise can heal, protect, and transform our mental and physical health.
May 26th Find comfort in slowing down and being with your breath in a safe and supportive environment. Led by Nicole Grenier, a Kripalu Meditation teacher, this is an opportunity to learn about the benefits of meditation and to explore meditation in ways that are welcoming, supportive, and non-judgmental. Cyclical and searching, much like the compulsive desire to fully understand, this project lives in the tension between clarity and confusion — getting closer to comprehension while simultaneously drifting further from reality.

Built around improvisation and emotion, each performance becomes its own living
reconstruction of the past, much like memories themselves: fragmented, distorted, and influenced by the present. This music asks what happens when we refuse to let go of certain moments, and how repeated resurfacing can transform truth into something unfamiliar.

Inspired by the freedom and uncertainty found in states of reflection— Rachel Ambaye’s Imagined Reality treats performance as a deeply present act of processing and creates a shared emotional space, one where audience and musicians move through this experience together, and are sat face to face with the blurred line between truth and recollection. The result is an intimate and immersive performance rooted in vulnerability, improvisation, and collective discovery.

Return to Center exists because I need it myself. We live in a culture that rewards speed, productivity, and constant motion, quietly inviting us into what often feels like a never-ending busyness Olympics. Month after month, I find myself longing for a full day to slow down, reflect, breathe, and be in the company of others who are also seeking perspective, health, and well-being. These retreats are my attempt to create the kind of day I wish were more normalized in our culture, a day to tend to the body, steady the nervous system, listen inwardly, and remember who we are beneath the noise.

Return to Center is not about self-improvement or fixing what’s broken; it’s about pausing long enough to feel human again, together.

At dusk, the spectacular fireworks show over downtown Waterbury ends the evening.

The 2026 NQID theme is American Time Machine! In celebration of the US 250th, we invite parade participants to take a journey through time — from the Revolutionary era to the roaring 1920s, the moon landing, Y2K, today’s innovations, and even visions of America’s future. Whether you’re channeling our founding ancestors, colonial inventors, jazz-age dreamers, civil rights heroes, 1960’s music, or futuristic explorers, your entry can represent any era in our nation’s story. Parade entries will be grouped in chronological order, creating a living timeline of American spirit, progress, and imagination. Costumes, floats, music, and storytelling are all encouraged — the more inventive, the better.
