Our neighbors and partners in the Mad River Valley are offering free quarterly "Stand Up For Safety" workshops targeting front-line and hospitality staff to recognize and respond to situations that may threaten the safety of themselves, their coworkers, and their guests.

These interactive sessions will equip front-line staff with practical tools to:
-Recognize signs of harm, harassment, or exploitation
-Respond appropriately and safely when concerns arise
-Connect individuals in need with the right support services

The workshops are approachable, hands-on, and rooted in real-world hospitality settings — from restaurants and inns to shops and recreation businesses. While the curriculum is still being finalized, the goal is clear: to ensure the Mad River Valley remains a safe and welcoming place for all. The workshops are organized and facilitated by Anna Nassset Consulting.

Upcoming Workshops will all take place at the MRV Chamber Welcome Center

January 22 – 10-11 am: Understanding DV, HT, and Stalking
Explore how to identify and respond to domestic violence, human trafficking, and stalking in both customers and co-workers, and learn about available local and national resources.

April – 10-11 am: Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Learn to recognize early warning signs of sexual assault, how to respond to disclosures, and how to connect survivors with resources and support.

August 5 – 10-11 am: Workplace Culture
Discover how to build a supportive workplace culture where all employees feel safe and valued, through stories, exercises, and practical leadership strategies.

Back in October 22 GBV Bystander Training was offered around the basics of gender-based violence prevention, including the 4D’s of bystander intervention, and how to empower yourself and others to make a difference.

Snowmobile Vermont, the tour company he once helped operate, replaced an undersized culvert with a bridge on one of his favorite trails in the State Forest. This bridge will be dedicated to him in recogni ...

Snowmobile Vermont, the tour company he once helped operate, replaced an undersized culvert with a bridge on one of his favorite trails in the State Forest. This bridge will be dedicated to him in recognition of all he did for us and all the effort and time he selflessly gave to the sport we love.

There will be a hotdog cookout lunch available for free at the Cotton Brook Trailhead starting at 11am and running to 1pm. At 1pm we will be riding out to the bridge location (only about 3 miles) for a dedication ceremony at 1:30pm. After the dedication there is plenty of groomed terrain to explore but official events are over. Please get here as early as you would like and stay as long as you would possible to enjoy the trails in Green Mountain Roamers country!

Trailer parking at 1 Cotton Brook Road or ride in (snow permitting-please check map) on trail 212 from Worcester and head toward Stowe.

As a former professional cyclist, Sara brings a unique blend of athletic discipline and compassionate healthcare to her practice. Her career started with rotations at UVM Medical Center and then took her first role as a registered nurse in a cardiology unit. Looking for a new challenge, she became an emergency room nurse in Baltimore while training and racing as an elite road cyclist. Her passion brought her to the highest level in the sport, racing for trade teams and for the US National team all over the world. The traveling lifestyle of a professional athlete forced her to learn how to take care of herself to perform at her best. She transitioned into graduate school at the University of California San Francisco to help guide others in their health journeys. She has had the pleasure to care for youth struggling with mental health and for the patients at Community Health Center, Riverside location. Sara is passionate about helping people navigate complicated problems, especially in the fields of adolescent medicine, female athlete medicine, mental health, and women's health. She uses active listening and collaborative treatment planning with an eye towards prevention and healthy habit-building.

Hi Neighbors,

In response to the heavy and tragic events of this week, many of us are looking for a way to process, connect, and find our footing again. I would like to offer our space at 92 S. Main Street as a sanctuary for us to band together and support one another.

On Saturday, January 31st, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, I am hosting a Community Healing Circle Day. This is a safe, no-judgment space to come as you are—whether you are grieving, overwhelmed, or looking for the strength to stand in your values.

Our goal is to help one another release the weight of the week, recenter our nervous systems, and refocus so we can move forward with clarity and truth.

The Schedule:

Distance Reiki: 9:00-10:00 | A group energy session to send collective love to Minnesota and to our neighbors.

Light Language Circles: 10:00–11:00 AM | 12:00–1:00 PM | 2:00–3:00 PM
A channeled vocal frequency designed to bypass the busy mind and calm the body.

Chair Reiki: 15-minute individual sessions available between circles.

Open Space: The doors are open from 9:00–3:30 for quiet reflection and neighborly connection. You can meditate, pull tarot or oracle cards, or just chat.

Cost: All offerings are by donation only. No one will be turned away.
