Join us for a lively and thought-provoking conversation about polyamory—what it is, what it isn’t, and the many misconceptions surrounding it. At its core, polyamory means "many loves," but what does this look like in practice, and what do healthy relationships look like in general? We believe one’s relationship preferences are a personal journey, and our goal is to leave you wondering about yourself and how you want to be in relationship.

This is a dialogue, not a class, but there is no pressure to share. Listening is key ????

There is a gathering every month; feel free to attend one or all of them. The group’s interests will guide the discussion. You can dive into any or pick up the thread of what someone else is sharing. Expect an insightful, fun, and lighthearted vibe.

Lastly, if you’re able to give, consider contributing between $3 and $50, or bringing a snack to share. We know the contribution range is wide. You can look for the blue duct tape box, hand us cash, venmo, or give on the website. Please give what feels right to you. No questions asked. This performance continues the Broadway Rocks tradition of sharing world-class music with Vermont communities while supporting the importance of the performing arts in local schools and organizations. Community members are invited to enjoy a heartfelt and unforgettable evening of seasonal music inside one of Waterbury’s most beloved and inspiring venues.

About Merritt David Janes

Originally from Colchester, Vermont, Janes is a graduate of the Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York City and is an alumnus of the University of Maine (Class of '04; 2012 recipient of the Spirit of Maine Alumni Achievement Award). Janes'professional career began playing the title role in the first Broadway National Tour of the Wedding Singer as Robbie Hart. He then moved immediately into his second Broadway National Tour, in his second consecutive title role, as the youngest actor ever to tour the part of the murderous barber Sweeney Todd. He next played the magical French candelabra, Lumiere, as an original cast member of Disney’s newest creative version of the Beauty and the Beast Broadway National Tour. This role served as a great contrast to both of his previous productions, as did the role of Lord Farquaad in the Broadway tour of Shrek, which became an around-the-world adventure with an international run in Asia. He then played the role of Carl Hanratty chasing Frank Abagnale all over the country in the first Broadway Tour of Catch Me If You Can. He was an original cast member in the 25th Anniversary Broadway Tour of Phantom of the Opera and the first Broadway National Tour and Broadway run of School of Rock as Dewey Finn. He most recently performed in the Original Broadway Cast of SMASH and Back to the Future.

***Part of the parking lot on Bidwell Lane will be CLOSED to vehicle traffic up to the Stowe St/Bidwell intersection from 9am to 2pm to allow for the set up and safe pedestrian access.***

Parking can be found at Brookside School, and free and paid lots on S. Main St, Bidwell ln, Dac Row Park, Rusty Parker Park and along the RR tracks, behind the Stone Shed at the end of Bidwell, behind the State Complex, and of course, street parking.

For those unable to walk far, vehicles will be able to drop any visitors off before finding parking if needed. Drivers, please reserve this option for those who need it most.

Celebrate the magic of the season with Solaris Vocal Ensemble where ancient carols and new creations unite to bring Holiday Cheer to all. Joining Solaris as guest artist will be the contemporary string ensemble, Skylark String Quartet. Based in northern Vermont, with decades of experience in the professional music community, Skylark’s sound and repertoire challenge the boundaries between the classical and folk traditions, creating innovative and original works for all audiences.
The concert opens with Healy Willan’s jubilant Hodie, Christus Natus Est and unfolds into a luminous journey of sound—from John Trotta’s mystical setting of O Nata Lux and Toby Young’s radiant O Be Joyful to the ethereal beauty of Brent Pierce’s How Still He Rests, where oboe and wind chimes intertwine with voices.
At the heart of the program is Randol Alan Bass’s brilliant Feast of Carols—a dazzling centerpiece for strings, oboe, percussion, and piano. Also featured are two world premieres by Solaris’ Composer-in-Residence, Dr. James Stewart, including his stunning new arrangement of I Wonder as I Wander.
The celebration concludes with the rhythmic energy of the Nigerian carol Betelehemu and a sparkling, joy-filled rendition of Jingle Bells performed by Solaris’s own music educators.
