There is a gathering every month; feel free to attend one or all of them. The group’s interests will guide the discussion. You can dive into any or pick up the thread of what someone else is sharing. Expect an insightful, fun, and lighthearted vibe.

Lastly, if you’re able to give, consider contributing between $3 and $50, or bringing a snack to share. We know the contribution range is wide. Sound and Silence is an exploration of the stark contrast of life during the pandemic. Cellist Ben Kulp reflects on the time of COVID as society was inundated with news, noise, politics, and fear while being sharply juxtaposed by long periods of time alone. The program includes works by Andrea Casarrubios, Jacob Cooper, John Cage, and John Luther Adams.

Benjamin Kulp is the cello instructor at Upper Valley Music Center. He graduated from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance, and a Master of Music from Ball State University, with further studies with Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi and Brant Taylor. He is an active solo and chamber performer in the Upper Valley. He is a former member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Miami Symphony Orchestra, and teaches at workshops and institutes across the United States.

Bach, Offenbach, Prokofiev, Handel, Tchaikovsky, and more. Conducted by Lou Kosma, the concert at the Barre Opera House is a family favorite. Audiences will happily recognize Offenbach’s Can-Can, Khachaturian’s Masquerade Waltz, and Angel Villoldo’s Kiss of Fire tang ...

Waltzes and Tangos, Minuets and Gavottes – the Vermont Philharmonic’s annual Family Concert at 2 pm on Sunday March 8th is a Journey through Dance, with music by J.S. Bach, Offenbach, Prokofiev, Handel, Tchaikovsky, and more. Conducted by Lou Kosma, the concert at the Barre Opera House is a family favorite. Audiences will happily recognize Offenbach’s Can-Can, Khachaturian’s Masquerade Waltz, and Angel Villoldo’s Kiss of Fire tango among others.

In addition to the dances, old and new, the program features two special new works. Michael Close’s North Star was written for virtuoso violist Elizabeth Reid, who will be performing the work at the concert. Michael is a cellist and music educator living in Worcester VT, and the senior composer-mentor at Music-Comp, encouraging and supporting students in composing and arranging music. Grayson Eley, a multi-talented freshman at Harwood Union, has enjoyed his participation in Music-Comp for three years. He wrote Homecoming to celebrate that special place of physical or mental welcome we call “home.”

The Vermont Philharmonic is celebrating its sixty-seventh year of making beautiful music in Central Vermont. The concert is sponsored by Passumpsic Bank of St Johnsbury. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, $5 for students. Tickets and information are available at vermontphilharmonic.com or at the door.

I view this less as a class and more as quiet time together. I’m here for questions and guidance, and to help you access the real magic of stillness.

You’ll get comfy and oriented. Grab a mat, bolster, pillow, blanket, writing pad, tea- whatever you desire that will help you feel safe, comfortable, and focused. Make yourself at home. Mats, pillows, and blankets are in the hallway and the Flow Room.

Settle in, and at the 15-minute mark, we’ll be quiet together for 30 minutes. When the 30 minutes ends, feel free to stay quiet or share questions, thoughts, or insights. You’ll go on with your day with new vigor. Or, you can stay if you wish. Check out the space options on the Shared Office Space page and keep your slow vibe going!

Exhibitor Information
Exhibitor setup begins on March 28 at noon. Tables and chairs will be provided. Exhibitors should plan on bringing their own materials for tabling purposes. Sign-up sheets are encouraged, and exhibitors will be given raffle tickets to hand out to prospective volunteers.
