This month-long celebration is an Across Roads Center for the Arts fundraising effort for future community arts programming, and their two annual scholarships: the Mitch Siegel Emerging Artist Award, benefiting a high school graduating senior pursuing the arts beyond Harwood Union; and the Janet DiBlasi Arts-In-Curriculum Award which provides a teacher at either Thatcher Brook Primary or Crossett Brook Middle School with funds to enhance learning by incorporating the arts into their core classroom lesson plans.

A closing artist reception For "Terroir" by Matt Larson is scheduled for Friday, May 17th from 6-8pm at Axel’s Gallery in historic downtown Waterbury. A closing artist reception For "Terroir" by Matt Larson is scheduled for Friday, May 17th from 6-8pm at Axel’s Gallery in historic downtown Waterbury. This event is free, open to the public and will feature a demonstration of process by the artist, a free raffle of two small framed pieces from the Terroir series (participants must be present to win), and the grand reveal of the competition theme for the 2019 Axel’s Gallery Photography Shoot-Out. Come to the artist reception and be inspired to explore and express the Vermont landscape through art.
